Delivery
of Invites
|
Q: When will my guests
receive their Invites?
A: Invites are usually
sent instantly, but on occasion it can
take up to a few hours for an Invite
to be received. Please remember that
some guests do not respond right away.
You can view the status of your guest
list by logging into your account and
clicking on your Invite. You can also
use the Live Update Guest List
link on the My Invite page. The
viewed date will be displayed next to
the guest's name.
Q: How do I resend
my Invite to guests who have lost/or
have not received it?
A: To
resend your Invite to your guests, go
to the top of the guest list on your
Invite and click the Send A Message
To Everyone link. Select the person's
name you would like to resend to, and
then enter any personal message you
want to include and send. A link to
the Invite will be included in the email.
Q: Some of my guests
haven't received their Invites. What
happened?
A: If a guest has not
received their Invites, please verify
you entered their correct email address.
There are a variety of possibilities
why your Invite may not be going through
to various email addresses. Some businesses
have firewalls that prevent emails from
coming through, or sometimes people
have free email accounts (like Hotmail)
that expire if not used on a regular
basis, or have run out of email storage.
Finally some email programs treat emails
via Invite as junk mail. Please check
the filter settings in your email account
to see if you are automatically deleting
emails. If do not wish to turn off your
filters/spam guard you can safelist
Invites by adding our email address info@sitename.com
to your safelist. You have the option
of resending Invites by:
1. Going into your Invite and clicking
on the Send A Message To Everyone
link under guest replies.Our system
will create a link for your guests to
access.
2. You can create a public URL for your
event and notify them by your personal
email account. If you are in the create
process - Click the Guest List &
Privacy tab, answer Yes to the second
question, then go to the last option
on the page where you can create your
URL. If you have already sent your Invite
- Go to your Invite, click on Privacy
& Design Options, and click
on the Guest List & Privacy
tab and follow the steps above. Make
sure that you keep record before submitting
it to the system. (Note-Guests who
are already listed will not be able
to use the URL since they already are
recognized by our system as being invited.
Also, since you are the host, you will
not be able to access it either).
Tell your guests about the URL and that
they can RSVP directly through it, and
not need to be notified via email from
Invite.
Q: How can I send
an Invite to myself?
A: As the host, you cannot
send an Invite to the same address that
was used to establish your Invite account.
However, you can preview the Invite,
just make sure you have an email address
on the guest list to view the guest
version of the Invite. Another alternative
is to send yourself a test Invite. If
you have another email address, send
your Invite to that email address and
you will be able to see what it looks
like.
Q: Do I have to send
my Invite now?
A: No, you can click
on the Finish Later button to
save your Invite until you are ready
to send it to your guests. Or, you can
set up a delivery date while creating
your Invite by clicking on the Guest
List & Privacy tab, and scrolling
down to the Sending An Invite section.
You will see, " When should Invite send
your invites?" use the pull-down to
select the time you wish. This can also
been completed after the send by going
into your Invite and clicking on Privacy
& Design Options then the Guest
List & Privacy tab.

Sending
Reminders
|
Q: How can I remind
guests about my event?
A: A reminder email is
automatically sent to your guests two
days before the event. You can adjust/edit
this feature by clicking on the Guest
List & Privacy link while creating
your Invite. You can also use the Send
A Message to Everyone link within
your Invite to remind them personally.
Once reminders are sent once, the reminder
status will automatically default to
No Reminders unless you choose
to uncheck this and send again.
Q: How do I edit reminders
after sending my Invite?
A: Go to your Invite and
locate Host Editing Tools, click
on Privacy & Design Options,
and then click on the Guest List
& Privacy tab. There will be
a Reminders section in the middle
of the page. Use the pull-down to enter
No Reminders and uncheck all
the boxes and click Update Now.

Maps
and Directions
|
Q: How do I add a
map/directions to my Invite?
A: When you enter in
the full address of your event, a link
to a map and directions is automatically
included on your Invite. To ensure this
map is correct, click on the Preview
Map link located just below the
address entry fields when creating an
Invite.
Q: What should I do
if the map is incorrect or unavailable?
A: Invite's map and driving
direction services are provided by Mapquest.
If the map is incorrect in your Invite,
please make sure the address is typed
in correctly, and there is no additional
information missing (cross streets,
abbreviations). When you are finished
editing your event details, please click
on Preview Map. If the map is still
incorrect or your address is invalid,
please report a map problem or a new
road to Mapquest.

Recurring
Events
|
Q: How do I set up
an Invite for a regular/recurring event?
A: When you are creating
an Invite, just click on the Schedule
Recurring Events link located under
Date and Time. Then the page will change,
and you will be able to choose the frequency
of the event, the end date, and the
when you'd like the Invite's to be sent
for each occurrence.
Q: How can I cancel
a recurring event and stop future Invites
from going out?
A: Go
to the Invite and under Host Editing
Tools, click Recurring Event
Options. On the next page, select
Just Once under Ongoing Event
Schedule.
Q: How
do I cancel one event without canceling
the series?
A: At this time, canceling
one event may cause future problems
with other events in the series. As
an alternative we recommend you not
actually cancel the specific instance,
but rather rename the title for that
particular instance (Ex. This Week Is
Canceled). We recommend leaving the
event active. Another possibility is
to change the notes in the Notes field
of your Invite.
Q: How do I edit an
upcoming recurring event?
A: There are some elements
of the Invite that you can edit at anytime,
no matter how far in the future the
event is. If you have a recurring event,
you can click on the See Schedule
button to edit: Title, Where, Street,
City, State, Start time, End time, and
Notes. All other event details, options,
and designs can only be edited when
that event becomes active. Please note
that when you are creating an Invite
you can change and set the lead-time
of when the Invite's are sent. Two days
plus that lead-time is when an event
becomes active. If you don't remember
what you set it to, most likely it is
set to the default of 5 days lead time
allowing you 7 days to edit the event.

Guest
List Max/Exemptions
|
Q: Is there a limit
to how many guests I can invite to an
event?
A: We have established
a standard guest list limit of 500 for
Private Invites. If you are using Invite
for legitimate, non-business, or promotional
purposes you can complete our Customer Service Form. Please
provide the purpose of your large and/or
infrequent usage, the total number of
guests you wish to invite, the correct
Host email address, and the title of
your event. Please read our Terms of Service for further information.
Note: Creating multiple Invites
for the same event is prohibited.
Q: What do I do if
I want to invite more than 500 guests?
A: Invite does offer exemptions
to the 500 guest maximum rule. Many
factors are considered when exempting
a host. We require information on your
organization, the purpose of the event,
the number of guests you plan to invite,
and the correct email address the Invite
was created under. In addition, if you
are an active Invite user, we evaluate
whether you have had a least a 50% response
rate for current and past events. If
a good response rate is not seen for
the event you wish to be exempted from,
we have the right to revoke your exemption
status. Your exemption is on a per event
basis. Please note, the purpose of this
evaluation process is to ensure that
Invite is not used as a SPAM tool.

Advertisements/Alcohol
|
Q: How can I prevent
my Invite from having alcohol advertisements?
A: You can prevent your
Invite from having alcohol and mature
advertising during the create process
by selecting Just 4 Kids as your
event type in the drop down menu. Have
no fear, by doing so you will still
be able to select any design from other
categories in our gallery. Please note
that if you have chosen an Advertiser
template, such as BACARDI®, and still
chosen the Just for Kids event type,
there will (possibly) be alcohol ads
associated with that template which
override the event type.
Q: Is it possible
to remove advertisements from my Invite?
A: No, to enable us to
provide a free service to our end users
we rely heavily on our advertiser's
support. However, we do have a variety
of ads and by clicking on a different
event theme you can choose an appropriate
ad to appear on your Invite.
